The Raiders recieve the ball to begin the game. Bullock(#26) records 5 tackles in the opening drive, showing dominance on the corner. Cedar Ridge's opening drive would be their only scoring possesion, leading to one lone field goal(0-3). Hinson(#8) finds Webber(#41) who nearly takes it to the house on a screen play. Dragons find the end zone from the 6 yard line(7-3). Rock D played exceptionally well tonight, really slugging it out in the trenches. Providing pressure up the middle and into the pocket, forcing passes and rushed scrambles, Round Rock drew punt after punt all night. With smart passing and hard running, Hinson leads the Dragons down the field for another score, this time on a keeper(14-3). A ball pops loose for Cedar Ridge and Round Rock is able to recover it in excellent field position, leading to the touchdown by Webber(21-3). Rock defense doesn't leave any holes and shuts down Raider offense. Rock offense is flying down the field with one big play after another; a 20 yard pass to Stefani (#14), a 13 yard keeper by Hinson, both leading up to the 25 yard fade to a wide open Nash-Kelly(#2), and just like that the Dragons have a 25 point lead going into the half(28-3).
Dragons receive the kick and pound the ball down the field for another score(35-3). Seth Dohrman coming out of nowhere with the interception and takes it back for 6(42-3). Forcing another punt, Rock has the ball back and is not done yet. Finding Webber on a sweep, flying around the corner he takes it (you guessed it) to the house giving the Dragons an insurmountable lead of 46 points. However, Cedar Ridge hadn't given up yet and worked themselves into field goal range. Someone gets a touch on it and it drops 5 yards short into the hands of #29, Mason Ramirez, who goes coast to coast for what would be a 105 yard touchdown but is called back on penalties. No one finds the end-zone after that and the crew in maroon runs out the clock for a final score of 49-3.
Rock D played lights out, shutting down the entirety of CR offense. Both Hinson and Beard(#10) threw well and rushed effectively at QB. An exciting offensive explosion and a spot-on defensive performance set the bar high. Keeping their heads down and not letting up for a second, your Round Rock Dragons clinch the #1 spot in district.
